Neck Lift: before & after and recovery stages

Compare a fixed loose-neck reference with early fullness and a later, partly lifted profile.

SUMMARY

What this example shows

A fixed fictional drape beneath the chin and along the upper neck provides the reference. This surface moves partly upward and inward as separate surgical swelling and color fade. Some starting contour remains. Chin, lips and rear neck stay fixed; fat volume, muscle repair, incisions, drains and scar maturation are not reconstructed.

STAGE BY STAGE

Neck Lift recovery stages

BEFORE

Loose-neck reference

A fictional drape under the chin and along the upper neck provides the same starting contour at every date.

This is an authored surface reference, not an assessment of the selected face or an individual fat volume.

DAY 3

First few days: Fullness masks the angle

Temporary fullness and color overlap the partially lifted neck surface.

Bandages and sometimes drains are part of postoperative care; they are hidden in this view.

DAY 30 · 4 WEEKS

Around 1 month: Profile emerging

Less swelling reveals the upward and inward surface change, with some fullness remaining.

Swelling can continue for weeks to months.

DAY 180 · 6 MONTHS

Around 6 months: Later neck contour

The same neck drape is partly reduced while some of the starting contour remains.

The surface does not show muscle repair or establish scar maturity or an individual result.

TIMELINE

Day-by-day checkpoints in the 3D model

The simulator interpolates between these authored checkpoints. They describe the illustration, not measured clinical averages.

Before treatmentUntreated reference

A fictional drape under the chin and along the upper neck provides the same starting contour at every date.

Day 1Early neck response

Temporary neck fullness overlaps the changed contour.

Day 3Visible swelling

Early swelling softens the neck-to-chin angle.

Day 7Early settling

Surface color and fullness remain visible.

Day 14 · 2 weeksContour emerging

The illustrated neck outline becomes easier to see.

Day 30 · 4 weeksLater surface comparison

Residual swelling remains despite a clearer outline.

Day 90 · 3 monthsLonger settling

The early response has largely faded in this example.

Day 180 · 6 monthsLater contour example

The surface view does not establish deep healing or scar maturity.

03

INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES

How recovery can vary

Timing and response

The starting drape is fixed; the contour control changes only its illustrated lift. Skin removal, muscle work and combined procedures vary. The chin and lips stay in place.

Longer term

Scars, sensation and deeper tissues may continue changing. A clear neck outline does not establish readiness for exercise or the end of recovery.

EVIDENCE NOTES

Sources and limitations

  1. ASPS: Neck lift: Loose neck skin

Loose neck skin and under-chin contour as concerns addressed by neck lifting. The fictional starting drape and its partial surface movement are not measured treatment outcomes.

  2. ASPS: Neck lift recovery

Early swelling, bruising, dressings and individualized postoperative care.

  3. ASPS: Neck lift results

Swelling settling over weeks to months and longer incision maturation.
