Forehead Contouring (Brow Ridge Reduction): before & after and recovery stages

Compare a fixed brow-ridge prominence with a partly reduced profile as temporary fullness settles.

SUMMARY

What this example shows

A fixed fictional brow ridge becomes less prominent while temporary forehead fullness and nearby color settle. The reference is partly reduced, not flattened completely. This surface example preserves the eye openings and does not plan bone removal, frontal-sinus work, fixation or a combined brow lift or hairline operation.

01

STAGE BY STAGE

Forehead Contouring (Brow Ridge Reduction) recovery stages

BEFORE

Starting brow ridge

The same fictional prominence above the eyes supplies the reference.

It is an authored contour on the chosen face, not a diagnosis of its bone anatomy.

DAY 3

First few days: Reduction beneath swelling

Forehead fullness and nearby bruising partly hide the reduced ridge.

The early skin response is separate from the retained contour change.

DAY 30 · 4 WEEKS

Around 1 month: Profile emerging

Less temporary fullness makes the reduction easier to see.

Residual swelling can continue; the date is a comparison point.

DAY 365 · 12 MONTHS

Around 1 year: Retained contour comparison

A smaller reference ridge remains after the illustrated local response settles.

This endpoint does not establish individual healing or the result of combined surgery.

02

TIMELINE

Day-by-day checkpoints in the 3D model

The simulator interpolates between these authored checkpoints. They describe the illustration, not measured clinical averages.

Before treatmentUntreated reference

The same fictional prominence above the eyes supplies the reference.

Day 1Reduced ridge with swelling

Temporary fullness overlaps the reduced reference contour.

Day 3Early forehead response

Forehead swelling and nearby bruising obscure the underlying shape.

Day 7Early settling

Temporary color and fullness remain in this example.

Day 14 · 2 weeksColor easing

The contour becomes easier to compare as the early response eases.

Day 30 · 4 weeksContour emerging

Residual fullness remains over the reduced ridge.

Day 90 · 3 monthsSlower settling

A small amount of illustrative fullness remains.

Day 180 · 6 monthsLater contour comparison

The reduced reference remains as the local response settles.

Day 365 · 12 monthsLonger-term comparison

A retained reduction is shown, not an individual healing deadline.

03

INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES

How recovery can vary

Timing and response

Bone shape and surgical approach vary. The control scales a fictional surface reduction, not millimeters. Incisions, dressings, sinus work and fixation are omitted; brow lifting and hairline lowering are separate examples.

Longer term

The display retains some prominence. Scar maturation, sensation, bone healing, asymmetry and later revisions are not predicted by the surface view.

EVIDENCE NOTES

Sources and limitations

  1. Mayo Clinic: Forehead contouring

Describes reshaping forehead bone. Its longer recovery discussion covers combined facial surgery, not a calibrated isolated brow-ridge course.

  2. University of Colorado Hospital: Forehead contouring recovery · Patient guide

The forehead-contouring/brow-lift section describes forehead and nearby eye swelling and bruising, easing after the first weeks with residual swelling for weeks to months. It does not set the illustrated dates or reduction amount.
