EYELIDS · ILLUSTRATED 3D RECOVERY
Ptosis Repair (Upper-Lid Height): before & after and recovery stages
Compare a lowered upper-lid reference with a raised lid margin as swelling fades.
Also called droopy eyelid surgery

SUMMARY
What this example shows
The starting example has lowered upper-lid margins. Repair raises those margins over fixed eyeballs, without raising the brows or adding a crease. It illustrates surface position, not vision, lid strength, eye closure or a specific repair technique.
STAGE BY STAGE
Ptosis Repair (Upper-Lid Height) recovery stages
Before treatment
This reference starts with a fictional lowered upper lid. Its position is held constant beneath the recovery changes.
First few days: Opening partly obscured
Lid fullness overlaps the illustrated lift.
Bruising can affect the eyelids and nearby face.
Around 2 weeks: Margin easier to see
Less swelling exposes the upper-lid edge.
Early follow-up commonly reviews healing and lid position.
Around 1 month: Lid-height comparison
The edge sits higher than in the lowered reference.
Repair changes lid height; brow lifting is a different movement.
Around 3 months: Later position example
The illustration retains the changed margin after early color fades.
A later review can assess position after swelling settles.
TIMELINE
Day-by-day checkpoints in the 3D model
The simulator interpolates between these authored checkpoints. They describe the illustration, not measured clinical averages.
This reference starts with a fictional lowered upper lid. Its position is held constant beneath the recovery changes.
The raised upper-lid margin is partly obscured by swelling.
Swelling can affect the apparent opening.
The margin becomes easier to see as the local response eases.
Less puffiness reveals the example lid height.
The upper-lid position is compared with the drooping reference.
Position and comfort require individual assessment beyond a surface view.
INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES
How recovery can vary
Timing and response
A fictional lowered upper lid is used at every reference stage. Cause, muscle function, technique and asymmetry affect actual results; changing the model does not diagnose ptosis.
Longer term
Lid height, eye closure, comfort and vision require separate assessment. The animation shows a surface position and does not simulate visual-field improvement or eyelid function.
