SUMMARY

What this example shows

The same fictional fine lines and coarse texture remain beneath early redness and dry peeling. Later, the treated area has partly softer lines and texture while natural pores and facial contours remain. Dates and strength are authored examples, not a measured wrinkle reduction, device setting or session plan.

STAGE BY STAGE

Ablative Laser Resurfacing recovery stages

BEFORE

Starting texture

Fixed fictional fine lines and coarse skin texture provide the reference; natural pores remain.

The display texture is not a skin assessment or a measurement of wrinkle depth.

DAY 7

Around 1 week: Dryness and peeling

Dry fragments and temporary color overlap the same starting texture.

ASPS describes dryness and peeling around days five to seven. Raw wounds and dressings are omitted.

DAY 30 · 4 WEEKS

Around 1 month: Texture becoming clearer

Less scaling reveals partly softer texture, with residual pinkness.

Healing skin can look smoother while color remains. This example does not measure collagen production.

DAY 180 · 6 MONTHS

Around 6 months: Softer lines, residual texture

The treated area's fine lines and coarse texture are partly softer; pores and facial contours remain.

Later improvement and lingering pinkness can coexist. The date and smoothing strength are illustrative.

TIMELINE

Day-by-day checkpoints in the 3D model

The simulator interpolates between these authored checkpoints. They describe the illustration, not measured clinical averages.

Before treatmentUntreated reference

Fixed fictional fine lines and coarse skin texture provide the reference; natural pores remain.

Day 1Early laser response

The exposed surface has color and temporary fullness.

Day 3Early surface healing

The example remains colored while its fullness eases.

Day 7Dryness and peeling

Dry surface fragments overlap the same starting texture.

Day 14 · 2 weeksLess scaling

Most illustrated flakes have disappeared; color remains.

Day 30 · 4 weeksTexture becoming clearer

Less surface reaction reveals partial softening of the same example texture.

Day 90 · 3 monthsColor and texture settling

Residual color eases while fine lines and texture are partly softer.

Day 180 · 6 monthsLater texture comparison

Residual lines and natural pores remain. The degree of smoothing is illustrative.

Day 365 · 12 monthsLonger-term checkpoint

The display endpoint does not predict lasting benefit or future aging.

03

INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES

How recovery can vary

Timing and response

Laser type, fractional versus full-field delivery, settings and skin history affect the response. This is not a simulation of a particular device or treatment depth.

Longer term

Residual lines and texture remain. Aging, future sun damage, scar outcomes and pigment complications are not simulated. The endpoint does not predict lasting benefit or the number of sessions.

EVIDENCE NOTES

Sources and limitations

  1. ASPS: Laser skin resurfacing recovery

Early redness and swelling, later peeling and prolonged pinkness after resurfacing.

  2. Mayo Clinic: Laser resurfacing

Ablative versus nonablative surface response and gradual longer-term effects.

  3. ASPS: Laser skin resurfacing results

Later improvement, persistent pinkness and future aging. It does not calibrate the illustrated texture, dates or smoothing strength.
