SKIN & SCARS · ILLUSTRATED 3D RECOVERY
Pulsed Dye Laser (Cheek Redness): before & after and recovery stages
Compare the same cheek vessels before treatment, beneath early purple marks and after partial fading over months.
Also called vascular laser for redness

SUMMARY
What this example shows
Circular purple marks appear over fixed fictional cheek vessels, then fade separately from early swelling and redness. The same vessels become partly fainter over the following months, with residual vessels still visible. Dates and fading strength are authored examples, not a clearance rate, treatment plan or suitability assessment.
STAGE BY STAGE
Pulsed Dye Laser (Cheek Redness) recovery stages
Starting vessels
Fixed fictional cheek vessels provide the same reference at every stage.
The pattern illustrates visible vessels; it does not diagnose a cause of facial redness.
First day: Purple marks appear
Circular purple marks overlap the original vessels and local redness.
This example shows a purpuric response; early warmth and swelling can also occur.
Around 2 weeks: Vessels beneath fading marks
Less temporary color reveals the partly faded vessel pattern.
NHS guidance describes bruising fading over one to two weeks. The amount of vessel change here is illustrative.
Around 3 months: Fainter residual vessels
The same vessel pattern is partly fainter, with residual vessels still visible.
The source describes possible further improvement over two to three months. This date and fading strength are not a personal forecast.
TIMELINE
Day-by-day checkpoints in the 3D model
The simulator interpolates between these authored checkpoints. They describe the illustration, not measured clinical averages.
Fixed fictional cheek vessels provide the same reference at every stage.
Circular marks and local redness appear on the treated cheeks.
Purple marks are conspicuous in this bruising-response example.
Local redness eases while purple marks remain visible.
The same marks are lighter; they do not move across the skin.
Less temporary color makes the partly faded vessel pattern easier to compare.
Temporary marks have faded in this example, while residual vessels remain.
The same vessel pattern is partly fainter. Its degree of change is illustrative, not a predicted result.
INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES
How recovery can vary
Timing and response
Laser settings, treated area and individual skin response affect bruising and recovery. The chosen face and skin tone do not establish suitability, and this example does not represent every PDL setting.
Longer term
Residual vessels remain in this example. More than one session may be needed; complete clearance, recurrence, rosacea control, scar improvement and pigment changes are not predicted.
EVIDENCE NOTES
Sources and limitations
- North Bristol NHS Trust: Facial threadveins and redness
Reduced visible facial vessels, purple bruising after PDL and possible repeated sessions. The source distinguishes PDL from long-pulsed Nd:YAG; it does not calibrate the illustrated fading.
- Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust: Laser treatment of red skin marks
Circular bruises fading over one to two weeks, early warmth/swelling and possible further improvement over two to three months. It does not validate the fictional vessel pattern or numerical fading strength.
